Wesley Rickert is a visual artist and writer working in film, sculpture, painting and performance. His work reflects philosophy of the irrational, absurd, dada-inspired impractical. Rickert's art has been exhibited and screened in artist run centres and galleries across Canada, in NYC, Brooklyn, Montreal and Toronto.
Kathleen Reichelt works in diverse media including collage, painting, drawing, sculpture and video. With a background in Cultural Studies, and an ongoing pursuit of philosophy, the artist is compelled to communicate abstractly, pursuing multiple meanings, puzzles and pluralism that visual art provokes. The artist has exhibited and performed in Brooklyn, New York, Montreal, Quebec, Toronto and Kingston, Ontario. Reichelt's visual art is in the permanent collection of the Asia Culture Center in Gwangju, South Korea.
Wes and Kathleen are directors of the 1000 Islands Film & Stage Artist Residency and the 253469 institute. They perform spoken word poetry and audio as solo artists and together as Burning Iceberg.
